Hi. I'm Owen from the UK. I am passionate about teaching English and hold many qualifications including a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (University of Sunderland), a Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (Cambridge University) and the Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate (Trinity College, London).I have lived in Hong Kong for four years and taught at a local primary and secondary school. I am very familiar with the Hong Kong curriculum and I have written school exam papers and conducted interviews for prospective students.
I have also worked at the British Council where I designed learning materials and delivered training sessions to other teachers.
I am a warm, encouraging and patient teacher. I use humour and try to develop deep connections with my students to motivate them. I use game-based activities to make learning more enjoyable. I never punish students for making mistakes. I encourage them to produce as much spoken or written English as possible and then provide them with useful, personalised feedback to help them achieve excellence.
