Spanish, recent PhD graduate in Biology / Ocean Science and cellist

I am a recent PhD graduate in Marine Environmental Science with a wide range of experiences in Biology and science education. My research has taken me everywhere from human biology and disease to biotechnology and biofuels, to marine viruses and microbiomes. I have also worked at science museums, touring visitors and putting together educational materials. I can help you with your IGCSE/IB/local Biology learning and share with you the fascinating and surprisingly pervasive real-life applications of the science you're learning, which I have experienced first-hand.

I teach in English (native level). I have lived in several countries, mostly in Europe, and my accent in English is British. I am originally from Spain and so can also teach you Spanish. You'll learn the "Castilian" language and accent from Spain.

In addition, I am a life-long cellist, with experience in several international orchestras and chamber music ensembles. I am looking to teach the skills and love of the cello to passionate students. Playing should make you feel all sorts of things except dread! With my highly tailored and technique-focused teaching, you will improve while playing things you enjoy, and learn to understand and enjoy music like you never thought you would. Whether you want to pass a grade exam, play in ensembles or just want to get better at playing for the love of it, we can work on your goals together.
