IGCSE & IBDP Science & Math Tutor

My name is Meghana Thakkar. I have a proven track record of delivering IB, IGCSE, and MYP curricula.
I have actively worked as an Online Tutor since August 2015, conducting online teaching sessions for international students across IB, A Level, and IGCSE boards. Additionally, I have been a Private Tutor since August 2010, providing targeted instruction for students in ICSE, IB, IGCSE, CBSE, HSC, and A Level programs. To further support diverse learners in a virtual environment, I hold a 120-hour TEFL Certification from the University of Ontario. I also possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office, basic internet operations, and HTML.
My institutional teaching experience significantly informs my tutoring approach and curriculum expertise. I currently serve as an IB and IGCSE Biology Teacher, IB ESS Teacher, and Assistant IBDP Coordinator at the School of the Nations in Taipa, Macau. In my teaching practice, I design regular assignments aligned with prescribed syllabi, elaborate on fundamental concepts to ensure thorough student comprehension, and advise students on study-related issues to build proficiency. Furthermore, my insight into student assessment is heavily strengthened by my ongoing roles as an IB Examiner for HL Paper 2 and Internal Assessment since 2014 , and as an IGCSE Examiner for Paper 4 since 2023.
My pedagogical methods are grounded in a robust academic foundation. I hold an M.A. in Education from the University of Bath and an MTech Integrated in Biotechnology from Dr. D. Y. Patil University, where I graduated as a Gold Medalist. I possess a profound knowledge of Biology, combined with the ability to accurately assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and motivate students to achieve better results. I am also highly adept at maintaining positive, communicative relationships with both students and parents.
