Hello! My name is Liam and I have been working as an educator and English language teacher for nine years across Hong Kong, China, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Having worked with Early Years and Primary school students during my career, I am currently accepting new students who are interested in developing their English language skills. My specialities include phonics, reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and conversation. I am also an experienced and capable primary school teacher familiar with a range of subjects including humanities, ICT, and mathematics. I believe it is only through frequent interaction that students will learn how to speak eloquently. Language learning is a lifelong process but I am confident in my abilities and the abilities of my students. One of my main focuses this year has been a focus on the mental health and wellbeing of students in my care, and have been commissioned by Routledge UK to author a book entitled 'Supporting the Wellbeing of Children with EAL, which will be available in 2022

My pedagogy is centred around a fun and engaging approach to learning. When children feel respected and heard, they are far more likely to engage with subject content. My style is to learn more about my students and develop a curriculum around their interests. My current students love my classes because they are learning through content that is already engaging to them. I am a kind, caring, yet persistent teacher who strives for the highest outcomes!
