Biochemistry (Y1) Undergraduate Student at HKU IB Diploma 2022 & GCSE 2020

Hello! I'm Charlotte, but everyone calls me Char. I'm currently at HKU studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I chose to study Biochemistry because I love discovering the basis of life, and how we as humans function. Although I'm currently studying the Sciences, I have a deep passion for the languages as well, especially English. I believe that languages are a crucial skill to have, and allow us to understand about different cultures in the world. However, learning English from a non-native perspective is certainly difficult, which is why I have many tips and strategies to help studying much more simpler, like creating my own resources such as vocabulary lists and easier ways to understand phonetics.

When learning large amounts of information, repetition and condensing knowledge is key. I will start the lesson with a recap of the previous, as well as discussing any questions from the student. I believe that most students are able to learn easily through different types of learning that suit them the best; so I will accommodate their beliefs and engage in such a way. I'm much more of a visual learner myself, so when it comes to understanding a word in English, or an organ in Biology, I will focus on this particular aspect using stimulating cards.

I usually do 60 minute lessons, where I will spend 45 on the topics that I will focus on, and 15 in recapping the information and giving questions.
