YRock was launched in 2005 to provide a pop-culture platform for talented teenagers in Hong Kong to express themselves through music composition, performance, dance and digital media. The YRock programme also aims to assist teens to develop life skills, self-esteem and confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Since 2005 YRock has organized over 50 live events at venues such as The Edge, Hard Rock Cafe and Hong Kong Cyberport (CLOCK - classic rock fusion with CCOHK, JAM International Music and Dance Festival featuring Simon Webbe, a pilot TV Show "YRock POP" and "What Teens Want" the follow up TV showcase). In addition, members of YRock have performed at the Kanye West concert with Edison Chen and at various local school functions.
YRock also runs courses at Int'l Schools creating original music, professional recordings and performances. YRock has produced original music recordings sold through HMV and Soundbuzz plus several videos. All these have received airplay and promotion from local media networks including RTHK Radio 3 and South China Morning Post.
Future plans include a mobile studio and YRock Cafe for teenagers
