Enthusiastic Piano/English Tutor

Hello! My name is Deanna, I am Half Chinese, Half English, born and raised in the Uk. I speak English, Cantonese and basic Mandarin.

I am an accomplished pianist, having played for 16 years and have been teaching piano since the age of 17. I teach all various types of students aged 4+, mainly focusing on teaching ABRSM grades or students looking to learn for self-enjoyment. I am able to teach in English or Cantonese.

I also offer English lessons, teaching both adults and children aged 3+. I was previously a primary school English teacher teaching in Hangzhou last year, mainly focusing on teaching phonics and have a TEFL certificate. Then, went onto teaching English Full Time at a learning centre in Hong Kong, where I predominantly taught phonics and speaking vocabulary class to children K1-P2.

Catering to each individual’s needs, I always create a personalised lesson plan to fulfil each of my student’s requirements whether they are an English or Piano student. My aim is to provide guidance to each of my students so that they may achieve their personal full potential. I am a patient, fun-loving and motivating teacher that firmly believes each student should always enjoy our lessons, learn at their own pace and get the most out of our lessons together.

For my Piano lessons, my method focuses on helping my beginner students to build a good foundation before moving on to learning ABRSM grades or by providing guidance to my more advantaged students to polish up their skills and progress further onto learning their dream song or passing ABRSM grade exams.

For my English lessons, I always cater to each individual student’s needs where I will create a tailored lesson plan around what my students are looking to achieve or follow the material that is provided to me. Whether you are a student simply looking to polish up and improve your speaking/listening skills with a native speaker or you would like your child to focus on learning phonics, English grammar, Exam prep etc. My aim is to expand and help develop my student's English skills, whilst encouraging my students to feel more confident in using their English on a day to day basis.
