Economics/English/SAT Prep - NYU Econ and HKDSE grad, patient and student-centered

I majored in Economics at New York University with a focus on theory, statistical analysis, and econometrics. Scored in 99th percentile on SAT (1510). Obtained HKDSE in English Literature (5**), Economics (5*), and History (5**). Previous experience tutoring 1-1 and in learning centre. Comfortable speaking Cantonese. Extensive background in debate, drama, and creative writing.
In addition to exam preparation and homework support, I'm ready to help students meaningfully connect what they're learning to current affairs and their own aspirations for the future. I believe this is what leads to a deep and lasting understanding of core concepts. I see economics as a fundamental key to understanding global systems and our own behaviour; this perspective informs how I teach.
I minored in Urban Planning and have worked in journalism and policy research. I'm currently working at a NGO and conducting independent research and looking to use this time to return to the work of fostering young learners.
I'm patient, communicative, and reliable. I'm committed to understanding every student's challenges, needs, and more importantly, long-term goals, to make learning feel meaningful and sustainable. We learn together as student and teacher, I'll always adjust my approach with observation.
