Passionate English teacher with 9.5 years of experience!

Greetings students and parents!

I am Mr. Cam, an experienced and passionate English teacher based in Hong Kong Island. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, I moved to and permanently settled in Hong Kong in 2016. I decided to make Hong Kong my "forever home" as I fell in love with the local culture, cuisine, adventures, and opportunity to travel around Asia. Since then I have started a family as a proud and dedicated husband and father.

In my time as an English teacher, I have had the privilege to grow my career through working at a variety of learning centers, teaching school children English as a second language of all ages after which I moved on to a shorter stint at a local kindergarten, gaining valuable experience in engaging younger learners' needs. I naturally found my way to an international primary IB school where I learned how to foster a global mindset in my learners' attitudes and perceptions of the world.

Wanting to take up the challenge of teaching teens English, I am now enjoying reaching further heights by teaching English as a secondary language at a local secondary school, where I am responsible for implementing English oral classes and have been granted to opportunity to create my own curriculum as well, harnessing my content creation skills.

My teaching pedagogy revolves around quickly identifying areas of concern, focusing on them and continually assessing until a level of mastery is evident in my students. I am fun, engaging, and outgoing, but also have a high level of expectation for all my students. I reward progress and condition a better attitude by leading via a high standard of professional example.


My qualifications include:

- a PGCE in Education (University of Sunderland)
- a BA in Creative Brand Communications (Vega Cape Town)
- a 140 Hour TEFL Certificate
- I am a Registered Teacher with the EDB

My fees are fixed at $500 - $600 per hour depending on the area of the client.

*One lesson per week is preferable.
